Mengi Yay 56

2018

Introducing a bespoke 50-meter superyacht concept commissioned by Mengi Yay in 2019. The client's brief presented one of the most demanding engineering challenges in the superyacht industry: designing a vessel over 50 meters in length while strictly remaining under the critical 500 gross ton (GT) regulatory threshold. As a Yacht exterior designer, my approach was to maximize the perceived volume and visual impact without adding unnecessary physical bulk. I achieved this by sculpting a sleek, low-profile silhouette characterized by sweeping, aerodynamic lines and expansive structural glass panels that flood the interior with light. The exterior is further accentuated by continuous LED light strips that trace the yacht's dynamic geometry, giving it a highly futuristic and unmistakable nighttime signature. This project perfectly balances the grandeur of a 50-meter superyacht with the strict spatial efficiency required to conquer the 500 GT limit.
